About the Role
You’re ambitious for more leadership responsibility, perhaps aiming to run your own store or take on a bigger role. Your focus will be on developing your team management skills—building a team that meets your needs and delivers results.
This is a balanced management role with clear accountability. You’ll understand your responsibilities and know who to turn to for support. Whether you have supervisory experience or are looking to step up, it’s a great opportunity to get closer to your team and enhance your skills.
What You’ll Be Doing
Our purpose is driven by our passion for food: together, we serve and assist every customer.
In this fast-paced environment, you’ll decide on issues like whether to stay on the shop floor during busy times, and you’ll advise customers on fashion trends and manage stock, from ice lollies in summer to school uniforms in late summer. You’ll also be responsible for dressing mannequins and creating appealing displays.
You’ll manage a medium to large in-store team—assigning tasks, planning breaks, creating rotas, addressing performance issues sensitively, and assisting with recruitment. You’ll be a visible leader on the shop floor, a role model who drives training and fosters an inclusive, safe environment where colleagues feel comfortable to challenge processes.
What Success Looks Like
Here’s how you’ll know you’re progressing:
* You support the Lead Clothing Manager in improving customer and retail outcomes.
* You collaborate with other managers, sharing ideas and ensuring smooth shift handovers.
* You communicate honestly and confidently with your team, providing regular feedback.
* You help your team empathize with customers, enhancing service quality.
* You make decisions quickly and are comfortable with uncertainty.
