Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Lockheed Martin team in Havant, Hampshire as a Compliance Verification Engineer. This role is hybrid (home-based, Havant offices, and customer sites in Crawley and Yeovil).

This position suits candidates with a background in aerospace compliance verification or other highly regulated industries such as automotive. You will experience a wide range of engineering activities including the following responsibilities.


Responsibilities

* Performing Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) function in accordance with RA5850, MAA/RN/2020/17 and Lockheed Martin Design Organisation Exposition (DOE).
* Working to the Military Air System Certification Process (MACP): reviewing and approving classification of changes to determine the approval and assurance route; independent review of DAT Form 30 or equivalent; independent review and approval of certification artefacts (Type Certification Basis, Certification Programme, Type Certification Expositions) in accordance with RA5820 and MMAC; reviewing submissions for compliance to certification specifications (e.g., Def Stan 00-970 or EASA CS); reviewing and assessing non-compliances against certification specifications and EL0S arguments to gain acceptance; independent review and approval of Military Certification Review Items (MCRI).
* Reviewing, advising and approving system test plans, acceptance test documentation and qualification evidence.
* Managing your time and the team's time effectively to develop effective solutions to cost and quality targets.
* Working with suppliers and customer authorities to approve and review airworthiness documents and evidence submissions.
* Providing technical input to programme management and commercial activities.
* Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and suppliers at all levels of the organisation, both internally and with the customer.

* Experience of compliance verification within aerospace or a similar highly regulated industry.
* Has worked as a technical authority or similar regulatory role.
* Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience.
* The ability to make supportable airworthiness and safety decisions, occasionally with limited information.
* In-depth knowledge of air systems design and construction.
* Understanding of test and qualification procedures and practices, especially regarding requirement sell-off.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely.
* The ability to manage tasks and priorities to ensure workload is delivered when required.
* Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences on complex issues, topics and engineering principles.


Qualifications

* Experience as a Tech lead or similar position (desired).
* Completed Airworthiness of Military Aircraft Fundamentals (AMAC-F) or Practitioner (AMAC-P) course (desired).
* Degree in Engineering or other STEM subject (desired).
