Salary: GBP 32,000 – 39,000 (dependent on experience, negotiable)

Job Role
* Participate as a full member of the multidisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individual treatment and rehabilitation plans, liaising with other relevant agencies as appropriate.
* Use an evidence‑based, patient‑centred approach to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment plans to support residents’ physical and psychological needs.
* Work with residents and team members to identify goals and set treatment plans.
* Liaise with relatives and carers with empathy, giving information, support and advice whenever and as often as required, in respect of treatment plans.
* Maintain concise records and provide reports as necessary for each resident’s case review.
* Identify risks and advise other team members on interventions to minimise risks.
* Undertake assessment of daily living skills to identify level of functional ability, risks and level of support needed.
* Participate in clinical meetings, reviews and other discussions where required.
* Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all occupational therapy equipment.
* Be aware of and have regard for the standards of practice from the Royal College of Occupational Therapy and other statutory bodies in relation to professional matters.
* Liaise with appropriate outside organisations for equipment provision (e.g. wheelchair services).
* Contribute to the development and training needs within the therapy team and the wider MDT, including nurses and care staff.
* Review and reflect on own practice and performance through the effective use of both operational and professional supervision.
* Directly support and supervise staff, ensuring professional lines of accountability and priorities are met and that all policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
Requirements
* Diploma / degree / masters in Occupational Therapy.
* Member of HCPC.
* Strong evidence of continued professional development.
* A minimum of two years experience working as an Occupational Therapist.
* Experience working with a wide range of neurological conditions.
* Experience of working with people with chronic disability and progressive conditions.
* Evidence of experience of using a wide range of approaches to the management of patients as demonstrated by clinical reasoning.
* A clear understanding of the CSP professional code of conduct and relevant professional guidelines.
* Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Ability to multitask and to work accurately and effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
* Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
* Ability to rapidly assess a situation / problem and to develop appropriate solutions in a proactive manner.
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
* Good English language and grammar.
* Report writing skills.
