Are you an experienced financial professional who thrives in a fast‑moving, complex environment? This is an excellent opportunity to join a large organisation undergoing significant financial development and play a key role in strengthening governance, controls, and financial management across the business.
We’re seeking a Senior Governance & Control Accountant to lead on robust financial reporting, strategic analysis, and the ongoing development of effective financial frameworks. This role would suit someone who is analytically minded, highly organised, and confident influencing stakeholders at all levels.
The Role
In this senior position, you will be responsible for:
1. Delivering high‑quality monthly financial reporting, forecasts, and performance analysis.
2. Providing expert insight to senior leaders, enabling effective decision‑making.
3. Leading the preparation of year‑end accounts and coordinating audit requirements.
4. Overseeing financial controls, governance processes, budgeting cycles, and cost improvement initiatives.
5. Developing financial models, management information, and long‑term planning tools.
6. Managing and refining financial systems, reporting structures, and chart of accounts.
7. Ensuring the organisation maintains strong financial discipline, accurate coding, and effective treasury management.
8. Supporting and mentoring junior finance team members.
About You
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with:
9. Post‑qualification experience in management accounting or financial control.
10. Strong analytical capability and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
11. Advanced Excel skills and confidence using multiple financial systems.
12. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence non‑financial stakeholders.
13. A structured, detail‑focused approach and the ability to manage shifting priorities.
14. Experience in large, multi‑disciplinary organisations (regulated sector experience desirable).
