We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer for our Dundee hub who will be responsible for the design, implementation, integration and testing of new features across complex software products, services, and components. The role will undertake code design at all levels. and create work plans for projects based on an existing high-level vision, providing scoping and estimations whilst proactively suggests improvements of all kinds.
What You'll Do
4. Defines and delivers valuable, usable, and testable user stories, in a timely manner without supervision.
5. Collaborates with other teams and functions including Sales, Support, Customers on resolving escalations & customer issues, root cause analysis and issue prevention
6. Provides guidance on design and best practices in software development.
7. Demonstrates expertise across a set of components, products and/or services and designs code architecture of complex features with multiple components while having high level architecture plan, uses OOP principles and design patterns, reviews component and feature designs, identifies design and architecture issues early.
8. Provides technical solutions and discusses pros and cons of different approaches while effectively balancing long-term strategy and short-term deliverable goals.
9. Writes new automated tests in line with existing tests structure, adds enhancements to the test framework/library when required
10. Uses low level operating systems knowledge to troubleshoot complex issues and serves as a technical mentor towards less experienced developers and engineers.
What You'll Bring
11. High skill level in Software Design & Test Automation: skills to develop clean, maintainable code and follow best practices
12. Professional experience in writing code in the languages used in the team, e.g. C#, ASP.NET, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS, Java, Python, Groovy, Go
13. Strong OOP experience, patterns and best practices
14. Experience working with any relational DB and SQL and integrating with 3rd party services and platforms (eCommerce, billing, license management, web portals, etc.)
15. Knowledgeable of Web services development (REST, GraphQL) and cloud-based technologies such as AWS/Azure
16. Experience with Agile, Source Control tools (Git) and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
