Location/Division Specific Information
Our PPD Laboratory Services team directly impacts patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought-leaders, and therapeutic guides. As a global leader in serving science, our laboratory professionals bring their commitment to accuracy and quality to deliver groundbreaking innovations. This role is based at our GMP Laboratories in Athlone, Ireland.
Discover Impactful Work:
The Pharma Scientist role involves performing complex sample preparation and analysis to measure small molecules using various analytical instruments. Working mainly independently, scientists interpret data regarding acceptability and consistency, and maintain analytical instrumentation.
A Day in the Life:
1. Perform complex sample preparations.
2. Conduct analysis procedures for pharmaceutical compounds in stability testing and other studies.
3. Review and compile analytical results.
4. Perform work accurately, timely, and safely.
5. Train on routine operation, maintenance, and theory of analytical instruments, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
6. Collaborate with multiple teams to meet business needs.
7. Set up and maintain analytical instrumentation.
8. Ensure QA findings are addressed appropriately.
9. Communicate project status to leaders.
10. Review, interpret, and analyze data for quality and compliance.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science, or related field.
* At least 2 years of industry experience in a GMP laboratory, with expertise in HPLC, GC, MS, Dissolution testing, Karl Fischer, UV-vis, FT-IR, TOC.
* Experience with inhaled devices/products testing is preferred.
* Experience with Empower software is advantageous.
Equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.
