Field Care Supervisor
Organisation: Prestige Nursing & Care Chichester
Location: Chichester
Salary: £24,500 – £25,500 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, plus participation in the on-call rota as required
Role Purpose
The Field Care Supervisor is responsible for supporting the safe, effective, and high-quality delivery of domiciliary care services. The role focuses on care quality, compliance, staff supervision, and client satisfaction, ensuring services are delivered in line with regulatory requirements, company policies, and individual care plans.
The post holder will work closely with the Branch Manager, Care Coordinator, clinical team, and frontline care staff to promote best practice, continuous improvement, and person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
Care Quality & Compliance
1. Complete care needs assessments, risk assessments, and manual handling assessments for new clients prior to service commencement or within two working days where required
2. Review and update assessments annually or following any significant change in a client’s needs
3. Ensure care delivery complies with CQC regulations, company policies, and agreed service specifications
4. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with data protection requirements
Quality Assurance & Monitoring
5. Conduct quarterly quality monitoring calls with service users or their representatives
6. Undertake a minimum of four spot checks per year on care staff delivering care in the community
7. Attend client reviews with health and social care professionals as required
8. Produce weekly compliance activity logs and meet agreed performance targets
Staff Supervision & Development
9. Carry out formal one-to-one supervisions with care staff at least quarterly, maintaining detailed records
10. Complete annual appraisals, identifying training and development needs
11. Undertake direct observations of care practice (with client consent)
12. Support induction, training, and ongoing development of care staff
13. Facilitate quarterly team meetings, preparing agendas and maintaining minutes
Operational Support
14. Work collaboratively with the Care Coordinator and Branch Manager to support safe rota delivery
15. Assist with recruitment activities to ensure adequate staffing and service continuity
16. Participate in the on-call rota, responding to emergencies and unplanned absences
17. Act appropriately in emergency and crisis situations, escalating to relevant professionals when required
Safeguarding & Professional Practice
18. Promote safeguarding at all times and report concerns in line with company and local authority procedures
19. Maintain confidentiality, dignity, and respect for all clients and colleagues
20. Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of service delivery
General Responsibilities
21. Support day-to-day branch operations when required
22. Act as a role model and ambassador for Prestige Nursing & Care values
23. Promote positive working relationships with clients, families, colleagues, and external professionals
24. Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
25. Experience supervising or managing staff within a care setting
26. Experience working in the UK care sector
27. Strong assessment, organisational, and communication skills
28. Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
29. Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care
Desirable
30. Experience in domiciliary care
31. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (other travel arrangements considered)
