Locum Children’s Social Worker – Child Protection / Safeguarding Team
Warwickshire County Council are seeking experienced and dedicated Locum Children’s Social Workers to join the Child Protection and Safeguarding Teams.
Salary: £33.30 per hour (in line with the West Midlands Memorandum of Understanding)
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of children subject to child protection plans, children in need and those who are looked after.
* Undertake assessments and statutory visits in line with national and local safeguarding procedures.
* Develop and implement robust care plans in partnership with children, families and multi‑agency professionals.
* Prepare high‑quality reports and present evidence in court proceedings where required.
* Contribute to child protection conferences, looked‑after reviews and core group meetings.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, agencies and families to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.
Qualifications
* Social Work England registration.
* Experience in child protection, safeguarding and care proceedings.
* Skill at building strong respectful relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
* Confidence in completing assessments, managing risk and making evidence‑based decisions.
* Organised, resilient and able to manage a demanding caseload effectively.
