The Opportunity
We’re supporting a major UK defence programme at the heart of the Land Industrial Strategy, focused on transforming how the British Army delivers collective training.
This is a senior, high-impact role for a commercially strong Subcontract Manager who wants to work on a programme of national importance.
The Role
As Senior Subcontract Manager, you’ll lead the management of large, complex subcontracts (£100m+) within a matrixed environment, working closely with industry partners and military stakeholders.
This role requires experience managing subcontracts for complex services (e.g. training delivery, managed services, multi-supplier operational models) — not purely commodities or materials procurement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead long-term subcontracting strategy and short-term delivery plans
* Manage complex, high-value service-based subcontracts with minimal oversight
* Lead and develop a team of subcontract professionals
* Oversee supplier selection, negotiation, contract execution, and performance
* Influence senior stakeholders and drive commercial best practice
About You
* Strong background in subcontract management for complex services
* Experience within defence, government, or regulated environments
* Proven commercial and negotiation expertise
* Confident operating in matrixed organisations
* Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC)
