Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Plaster Room services. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as an Orthopaedic Practitioner. This post involves supporting the application and removal of splints, plaster casts, and traction under supervision unless or until qualified. The position is a Hywel Dda University Health Board wide position but the base will be Bronglais General Hospital.

Qualifications & Requirements
* Level 3 qualification.
* Knowledge / experience of Orthopaedics and Trauma.
* Experience within the care sector.
Band & Salary
This post is advertised as Band 5 and ideally candidates for this role must have achieved the Diploma / Certificate in Casting Techniques. Applicants who do not currently hold the qualification are encouraged to apply; if successful, they will need to attain the qualification within 36 months and will be appointed under the All Wales Annex 21 rules. The successful applicant will be supported by a development plan:
• During the first year payment will be 65% of the top rate of Band 5 pay, second year 70% and third year 75%,
• Following successful completion of the Diploma / Certificate in Casting Techniques the post holder will then be paid at Band 5 (minimum point on the scale).
Support and supervision will be provided in order to develop the successful applicant to the Band 5 role. Failure to achieve the qualification and required competencies in the designated timeframe could result in re‑deployment.
