About the role
Engineers form part of the Security Engineering Team (SET), an expanding team delivering IT security services to a client within the aerospace industry. The team operates across two primary sites in Derby, providing security engineering and operational support in varied technical environments. Team members are not fixed to a single location, allowing for diverse and engaging work.
The role focuses on three core areas of security engineering and operations:
* Run Activity: Monitoring and maintaining the health of security tooling
* Incident Response: Responding to security incidents related to tools within the SET remit
* Request Management: Triaging incoming requests via the Engineering Team mailbox and service management queue, ensuring clear ownership and resolution
This is a hybrid role combining office, client site and home working. Home working is not available on a full-time basis.
Key responsibilities
* Ensure the integrity and availability of client IT security infrastructure
* Operate in line with IT Service Management principles, including on-call and out-of-hours support
* Maintain and monitor security toolsets including SIEM, IDPS, GVM and malware protection platforms
* Record, investigate and respond to health alerts across managed security infrastructureTune policies, features and configurations in response to incidents and client requests
* Troubleshoot and assess the impact of security tooling on business applications
Successful candidates will be required to complete pre-employment screening, including:
* Identity verification
* Nationality or immigration status
* Continuous employment history (3 years)
* Unspent criminal record check (DBS)
