Job Title: Senior/Principal Platform Systems Mechanical Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness. This position requires full-time on-site presence.

What you'll be doing:
* Developing the package of design evidence required to justify a safe, effective design and generate customer confidence in the design solution.
* Specifying and assisting in the build of prototypes, products, and systems suitable for testing.
* Providing timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues.
* Ensuring that commitments are agreed, reviewed, and met.
* Mentoring junior engineers on technical matters.
* Making effective presentations to technical and management audiences, staying abreast of novel technical concepts and markets.
* Authoring or co-authoring technical reports, papers, articles, patents, and presentations as required.
Your skills and experiences:
* Educated to Degree level in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science Subjects.
* Ability to produce design documentation and present these to customers and wider groups.
* Ability to solve complex engineering calculations.
* Experience with the Engineering Lifecycle.
* Proficiency in CAD, MS Office, and familiarity with other IT applications.

The T&C Engineering Support team:
As part of the team, you will be involved in planning and reactive support to ensure engineering aspects of testing and commissioning are conducted safely and appropriately, maintaining design intent. This role offers the opportunity to work on some of our most complex projects and provides career development prospects. Relocation support packages are available across all Submarines roles, subject to eligibility.
