On completion of a Level 3 Safety, health and environment technician apprenticeship you will be able to join the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) at TechIOSH level. Youll then be given the opportunity to progress onto further qualifications to support your career development. You will be part of a team of a Health and Safety professionals responsible for promoting apositive safety cultureand ensuring that everyone on site goes home safely at the end of each day. You will be assigned a mentor from day one who will support you throughout your learning; giving you the opportunity to learn from an experienced professional. What will you be doing? Learn to advise and guide agents and other relevant personnel in setting up, implementing and maintaining safety systems. Understand project execution plans and help to ensure they meet company standards. Learn to carry out periodic site safety inspections and report back findings to site management Ensure that safety issues are discussed at area and department system review meetings. Keep and maintain clear records to comply with company internal audit standards. Assist managers with safety submissions, risk assessments and vendor evaluations when requested. Communicate and promote the health and safety management ethos and concepts. Support in the preparation of the monthly report and submit to the head of health and safety in agreed format. Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time. Help identify ideas for improvement and issues, submitting to senior safety advisor/team leader for consideration. Set a personal example of safe behaviour. What you will need Academic requirements Essential GCSE grade 4 (C) or above in Maths GCSE grade 4 (C) or above in English Language 3 additional GCSEs (or equivalent) grade 4 (C) of above Plus Desirable 1 x A level (or equivalent) in STEM subject Who are we looking for?
