The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have the below:QualificationsGDC Full RegistrationBDS or equivalentHolds a PCT performer number or eligible to join Performers ListPostgraduate training relevant to Special Care and/or Paediatric Dentistry.Commitment to Continuing Professional Development and compliance with GDC requirements for recertificationKnowledge & skillsBroad range of clinical skills and experience in caring for children and adults with special needsExcellent clinical skills and ability to deliver dental services in a variety of settingsExperience of clinical audit and activities aimed at improving quality of careAbility to empathiseExcellent leadership skillsComputer literate in a Windows environment and willingness to learn practice software e.g. R4 Knowledge of managing NHS dental claims.Full UK driving licenseKnowledge of NHS dental servicesExperienceMinimum of 2 years' experience providing Special Care and Paediatric DentistryPrevious experience of providing domiciliary carePrevious experience of treatment planning and provision of treatment under inhalation sedationEvidence of CPD specific to Special Care DentistryWhile not essential, it would be desirable to hold a postgraduate qualification in Paediatric and/or Special Care Dentistry and bring over three years' experience delivering Special Care and Paediatric Dentistry within a community setting. They will have proven experience in providing domiciliary care and be confident in planning and delivering treatment under both general anaesthesia and inhalation sedation. Experience in teaching, supervision, or mentoring is also desirable.
