About the Role
You’ll need to provide expert support and technical leadership through advice, guidance, and training; develop strategy for our sectors and produce tools to regulate, support development and deliver environmental outcomes; commission and manage external research projects where needed; work with internal and external stakeholders such as Defra, DESNZ, internal operations teams, trade associations and other key industry players. Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do, and you will be asked to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert support and technical leadership via advice, guidance, and training.
* Develop strategy for the energy sectors and produce tools to regulate, support development and deliver environmental outcomes.
* Commission and manage external research projects where needed.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders such as Defra, DESNZ, internal operations teams, trade associations and other key industry players.
* Respond to incidents and support business continuity during incidents.
Qualifications
* Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures and actively encourage diversity issues.
* Relevant technical and regulatory knowledge with experience in regulating or working within energy sectors that include combustion plants, waste incineration, and refineries.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, operators, partner regulators, government, trade bodies and academia.
* Work cooperatively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
