MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1 Carry out straightforward legal tasks including tenancies at will, standard licences to underlet and assign, right to buy transactions, lodging and removing charges, bonds’ releases and post-completion matters 2 Carry out and draft legal notices/standard letters for environment team and arrange for the sealing and post completion matters of planning and highway agreements. 3 Assist with the opening and closing of files on case management system 4 Perform searches including Land Registry, local and HM land charges, environmental, brine, company and coal searches. 5 Run reports on the case management system. 6 Conduct standard legal processes which require interpretation and judgement to achieve required outcomes. 7 Participate in the overall strategic planning and management of the team to ensure effective delivery of services is achieved. 8 Carry out research on specified matters and areas of work, to obtain, collate, analyse and present information in a logical and acceptable format for use by senior staff and others inside and outside the organisation. 9 Identify problems and make recommendations to professional colleagues for action on the job holder’s specified area of work so as to contribute to the achievement of the service’s overall objectives. 10 Make use of the most appropriate software package to devise, set up and maintain the records, including databases, which are necessary for the efficient working of the service and team. 11 Notwithstanding the detail in this job description, the job holder will take responsibility for or provide support for such legal or corporate projects as may be assigned by the Head of Legal Services, Senior Legal Manager or Legal Manager up to or at a level consistent with the main duties and responsibilities of the job and in any location within the Borough. This will form part of the overall work package for the role which will be reviewed from time to time.
