Admiral Nurse
In collaboration with Dementia UK, we are looking to recruit a registered nurse (RN, RNMH, RNLD) with a passion for, and experience of, providing relationship‑centred dementia care with a strong sense of advocacy and equalities for this client group to join our dedicated Admiral Nurse team, providing support across the Isle of Wight.

Responsibilities
* Specialist bio‑psychosocial assessment and support for people with dementia and families with complex needs.
* Facilitation of education and training for staff in the delivery of evidence‑based dementia care.
* Support with policy development and quality improvements in relation to dementia care.
* Consultancy to other health and social care professionals regarding dementia.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse with appropriate post‑registration experience in Mental Health Care of older people; clinical experience of working with older adults with mental health needs and their carers/supporters/representatives in different settings.
* Relevant teaching qualification.
* Qualification in Older Persons Mental Health.
* Qualification in group/individual counselling skills.
* Knowledge about dementia and how this can affect individuals day‑to‑day life, relationships, family and support networks.
* Experience of working with groups and individuals in a variety of roles and settings.
* Experience of working as an autonomous practitioner.
* Experience of working with service users to develop practice.
* Experience of evaluation or audit.
* A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010 and a reasonable adjustment can be made).
* Flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.
* Experience of professional supervision of staff.
* Knowledge of research and methodologies.
