Job description for Senior Deputy Manager position:
Reporting to: Nursery Manager/Area Manager
To work four days a week for 38 hours to enable an excellent work life balance.
Main responsibilities:
To work in partnership with the Nursery Manager.
Deliver and ensure a high standard of teaching, learning and assessment and care for children aged 0-5 years.
To ensure that the Nursery is a safe environment for children, staff, and others.
Developing partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child's development.
To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Nursery Manager/Area Manager.
To support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day management responsibility for the Nursery.
To support the Nursery Manager to ensure the efficient running of the Nursery and delivery of a high-quality service.
To support the Nursery Manager to ensure that the Nursery provides a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times.
To support the Nursery Manager to ensure the Nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times.
To support the Nursery Manager to manage, supervise and support the Nursery staff.
To work with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families.
To ensure all staff understand and work to nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints, and emergencies.
Support with the planning, which ensures each child is working towards the early learning goals.
To support the key person system.
To support the Nursery Manager in conducting staff appraisals and supervisions as appropriate and to identify staff training.
To ensure all records are properly maintained in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company.
To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum.
Exchanging information about children's progress and encouraging parents' involvement.
To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the Nursery aims and objectives.
Education & Qualifications:
Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification.
A minimum of 3 years' experience, working in a Nursery setting in a managerial or deputy post.
Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance.

Excellent verbal and communication skills with children, parents, and staff.
Ability to write reports and keep clear and accurate records.
