What You’ll Be Doing:
• Supporting the Year 2 teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery
• Leading small group work in phonics, reading, writing, and maths
• Providing 1:1 support to pupils needing extra help
• Encouraging independence, resilience, and confidence in young learners
• Assisting with behaviour management, classroom organisation and learning displays
• Helping prepare pupils for KS2 transition and end-of-year assessments
Ideal Year 2 Teaching Assistant for This Croydon School:
• Graduate or experienced TA with a strong interest in Key Stage 1 education
• Enthusiastic, calm and confident working with children aged 6–7
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
• Experience in phonics (e.g. Read Write Inc or similar) is desirable
• Committed to full-time, term-time work from September through July
• Ambitious to pursue a career in teaching or child development
