Salary: £80,000 - 110,000 per year Requirements:
* Masters or Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Communications, Signal Processing, or a related field
* Strong proficiency in using MATLAB, C/C++, and Python to develop and evaluate communication algorithms and solutions
* Excellent working knowledge of PHY technologies (e.g., OFDM, MIMO, CDMA)
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
* Knowledge of and/or interest in supporting the UK Defence and Security domains
* 5+ years of experience in wireless communication systems design and development (desirable)
* Expertise in digital signal processing, error-correcting codes, or deep neural networks (desirable)
* Proficiency in C++ for fixed-point implementation and performance optimisation (desirable)
* Experience with SDR platforms and real-time prototyping (desirable)
Responsibilities:
* Design and implement advanced wireless communication algorithms focusing on PHY and data-link layer technologies
* Conduct system-level modelling and simulation using MATLAB for floating-point algorithm development
* Implement floating and fixed-point algorithms in C/C++ for real-time embedded systems
* Analyse and optimise signal processing tasks, including modulation, demodulation, channel estimation, equalisation, and synchronisation
* Prototype and validate algorithms using Software Defined Radios (SDRs)
* Collaborate with other systems and software engineers for seamless integration of new designs and optimised performance
* Document designs, simulations, and test results, and contribute to technical reports
