An exciting and new opportunity has arisen to join the Carlisle Rural Primary Care Network (PCN) team based with Brampton Medical Practice.
This role will work with our practice clinical team and PCN Frailty Nurses to deliver high level services to our patient population of around 16'700 patients.
Main duties of the job
We are able to offer up to 37.5 hours per week but part part hours can also be considered.
Hours of work will be on a rota basis working between 7.45am and 7pm with Saturdays on a team based rota.

Job responsibilities
Supporting the PCN Frailty Nurse team in theirduties to deliver housebound and care home services
Supporting the PCN Frailty Nurse team intheir duties to deliver care to patients under their patient list withinpractice clinics
New patient health checks /NHS healthchecks / Weight Management
ECG recording
Assist with Learning Disability and Mental Healthannual reviews
To give flu vaccines / immunisations within thescope of established protocols
Processing and management of laboratory samplesrequested by GPs/nurses
Maintenance of surgical equipment
Cleaning of clinical areas within remit of role
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring andrecording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking andstock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments andequipment before, during and after patient care interventions, includingassisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance ofpatients health and well-being
Undertaking specific clinical activities for namedpatients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to thatindividual
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-beingand how it can be promoted
Assisting with the collection and collation of dataon needs related to health and well-being
Follows aseptic technique in removal of sutures,clips, dressings as per nursing care plan.
At all times, observes infection control proceduresand protocols to protect patients, colleagues and themselves.
Please Note: The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which will be paid by the post holder either on appointment or as part of the first 3 months salary deductions. Current cost is £49.50
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience with dealing with the public/patients
* Meeting Quality Targets
* Use of Microsoft Office
* Previous experience within a General Practice or health care role
* Experience in EMIS Web
Knowledge and Skills:
* Good written communication skills, clear concise record keeping
* IT Skills
* Time management, able to prioritise and organise own workload
* Trained in phlebotomy and infection control
Other:
* Driving licence with own transport or ability to be able to travel to any of our sites as required: Brampton, Corby Hill, Wetheral
* Flexibility of working hours / ability to work at desired times which includes working extended access, late evenings, weekends To cover holidays and sickness
Qualifications
* A demonstrable commitment to professional development
* Good standard of general education 5 GCSE including English and Maths Grade 4 and above or demonstrable experience and knowledge (application/interview/previous work history)
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent
* Previous experience of working in a HCA role
