Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Pharmacy Counter Assistant, Dispenser, or Accuracy Checking Dispenser to join our team. You will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of the pharmacy, ensuring patients receive excellent care, accurate prescriptions, and friendly service.
Key Duties
* Serve patients at the counter, providing advice on medicines and healthcare products within your level of training
* Dispense prescriptions accurately and safely, following standard operating procedures
* Where qualified, carry out final accuracy checks on prescriptions before supply to patients
* Support pharmacists with day-to-day tasks and assist patients with clear information about their prescriptions
* Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised pharmacy environment
* Assist with stock control, including ordering, checking, and rotating stock
* Respond to patient queries with professionalism and care, escalating where appropriate
* Accurately document all dispensing and, where relevant, checking activities
Requirements
* Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred (counter, dispensing, or checking roles)
* Accuracy checking qualification (for applicants applying as Accuracy Checking Dispensers)
* Good attention to detail and organisational skills
* Strong communication and patient care abilities
* Pharmacy qualifications (NVQ2/NVQ3 or equivalent) are desirable but not essential for counter roles
* Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and high standards of patient care
