Health & Safety Officer – West Region (Field-Based)
Location: Newbury based (Covering Oxfordshire, M3 Corridor, Southampton, Plymouth)
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum + car allowance

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Officer to lead safety initiatives across the West Region for a prominent contractor specialising in planned maintenance and refurbishment. This field-based role involves direct engagement with operational teams, ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards.
* Deliver toolbox talks and training sessions to upskill in-house operatives.
* Develop and implement risk assessments and safety protocols.
* Engage with site teams to foster a proactive safety culture.
* Report directly to the Group Health & Safety Manager, providing updates and recommendations.
* Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
Candidate Profile:
* Proven experience in a Health and Safety role within social housing or planned maintenance sectors.
* Strong background in supporting operational teams in field-based environments.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and educate site personnel.
* Digital skills to produce reports, analyse data and engage with new software.
* An interest in the law and regulations surrounding the workplace.
* Willingness to travel extensively across the designated region, relevant driving licence.
* Relevant industry relation qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, Relevant Degree or HND.
* Knowledge of The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
