Job Purpose To lead, coordinate, and supervise a team of production operatives to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing processes while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. Key Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day operations of the production team to ensure targets and deadlines are met. Allocate resources and assign tasks to team members based on production schedules. Monitor output to ensure product quality standards and specifications are maintained. Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to production staff to improve performance and engagement. Act as the first point of contact for escalated issues within the team. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and resolve issues. Ensure adherence to health & safety regulations and company policies. Report on team performance, downtime, and incidents to management. Identify areas for continuous improvement in processes and workflows. Maintain accurate documentation and records related to production, staff, and materials. Person Specification Essential Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Previous leadership or supervisory experience. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment. Basic computer literacy (e.g., Excel, production software). Desirable: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related discipline. Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge. First Aid or Health & Safety certification.
