The Mechanical Safety Engineer role involves ensuring the safety of aerospace product portfolios through investigations, leading to corrective and proactive improvements of designs and processes. Responsibilities include generating design concepts compliant with regulatory and customer requirements, producing detailed technical documentation, and supporting design development through calculations, reviews, and stakeholder consultations. Mentoring junior staff may also be part of the role.

You will have
* IMechE accredited Mechanical Engineering Degree, Aerospace Engineering Degree, or equivalent
* 1st or 2.1 degree from Russell Group/Redbrick University (desirable)
* Experience in requirements generation, technical evaluations, and trade studies
* Supportive hand calculations and knowledge of finite element software
* Knowledge of GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5)
* Design expertise for assembly and manufacturing, preferably in aerospace/defence (e.g., ISO 15288)
