SAP S/4HANA Solution Architect – Utilities

Work pattern: Hybrid with client-site travel
Our client is a major consultancy expanding its SAP and Finance practice off the back of sustained demand for S/4HANA and broader business transformation work. They are delivering large-scale, multi-year SAP programmes across global and UK brands and are growing their architecture capability to support a strong pipeline.
About the role
This position sits inside a fast-moving advisory team that operates with a flat structure and encourages direct input from all levels. You will take ownership of solution design for Utilities programmes and shape end-to-end S/4HANA delivery across finance, procurement, asset management, supply chain, and related workstreams.
Key responsibilities
* Design, configure, and deploy S/4HANA solutions that follow best practice and architectural standards.
* Lead architecture assessments and drive solution strategy with senior client stakeholders.
* Define technical design and implementation plans for complex and scalable S/4HANA programmes.
* Make key design decisions in line with adopt-not-adapt principles.
* Set up delivery frameworks, architecture artefacts, and structures for successful programme mobilisation.
* Support business development activity across new and existing Utilities clients.
* Train, coach, and guide consulting team members.
Experience required
* Experience delivering SAP in one or more Utilities sectors including water, electricity transmission, electricity distribution, nuclear, or renewables.
* At least two full lifecycle S/4HANA programmes completed in the Utilities sector.
* Strong technical background in at least one core SAP module such as Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Service, or EAM.
* Proven track record leading solution strategy and design for S/4HANA implementations.
* Ability to learn fast and work with new SAP technologies as they evolve.
* Ability to explain complex designs to senior stakeholders in clear and simple terms.
* Knowledge of best practice architecture principles with an advisory mindset.
* Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
* Pre-sales experience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment with shifting priorities.
