The Headteacher, children, staff, and Governing Body of Tredegar Park Primary School are looking to appoint enthusiastic, dedicated, and inspirational Teaching Assistants (Level 2) to join from September 2025. We are recruiting for positions across the school, including supporting whole classes and small groups of learners with Additional Learning Needs.
Our Teaching Assistants play a vital role in the life of our school. We seek individuals who:
Develop excellent working relationships with pupils, Governing Body members, staff, and parents/carers.
Are dedicated to the social, emotional, and mental wellbeing of pupils.
Have high expectations and support pupils to reach their full potential.
Reflect regularly on their practice to improve professionally.
We have positions available for:
Teaching Assistants in the Early Years setting.
Supporting small groups of pupils with physical, medical, social, emotional, and behavioural needs inside and outside the classroom.
We are particularly interested in applicants who:
Have experience working in a school or similar setting supporting teachers.
Support pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to aid their progress.
Use strategies to support pupils with social and communication needs.
Manage behaviour positively and respectfully.
Collaborate with external agencies to support pupils' needs.
Have recent training or willingness to attend training for pupils with medical and physical needs.

The Governing Body and Local Authority are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers must share this commitment. This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Candidates must be registered with the EWC and hold a Teaching Assistant qualification. Holidays must be during school closure periods. The appointment process includes a lesson observation and interview.
