Salary: £55,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance

About the Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of high voltage projects, with a focus on substations, switchgear installations and associated cable works.
You will work closely with the project team to manage cost control, valuations, subcontractor accounts and contract administration, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
This role would suit someone with HV or electrical project experience who understands the commercial drivers behind complex infrastructure delivery.
The key requirements for this Quantity Surveyor role are:
1. Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations and final accounts
2. Prepare and submit interim and final applications for payment
3. Develop and manage project budgets, BOQs and profit plans
4. Monitor cost forecasts and report on commercial performance
5. Identify and manage variations, dayworks and change orders
6. Attend and manage commercial meetings with clients and internal teams
7. Ensure contract obligations are administered in line with project requirements
8. Identify commercial risks and escalate appropriately
9. Work closely with the Planning Engineer to ensure accurate progress reporting
10. Maintain detailed records to support claims and cost tracking
11. Negotiate with clients and subcontractors where required
Experience required for this Quantity Surveyor role are:
12. Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
13. 5+ years’ experience within a similar commercial role
14. Experience working on electrical or high voltage projects
15. Experience on projects with electrical scopes exceeding £3m
16. Strong understanding of NEC3 contract conditions
17. Proficient in Microsoft Excel
18. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
19. Strong record keeping and commercial administration capability
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Quantity Surveyor role are:
20. Substation or transmission project experience
21. Technical background in electrical engineering or similar
22. Experience managing contract claims and escalations
23. Understanding of material and labour escalations within infrastructure projects
