Overview
The Motor Recoveries Executive plays a key role in supporting the recoveries process by working with motor dealers, customers and internal teams to resolve post‑sale issues and recover funds. You will be responsible for dealer commission recovery, supporting motor vehicle collections, and providing wider support to unsecured personal loan recoveries, ensuring fair customer outcomes and protecting the business.
Responsibilities
* Contacting motor dealers to identify, query, negotiate and recover overpaid commission or related payments in line with agreements and internal processes
* Requesting, reviewing and validating supporting documentation, maintaining accurate case notes and audit trails
* Working closely with internal teams such as Finance, Operations, Sales and Dealer Support to resolve discrepancies and prevent repeat issues
* Supporting motor vehicle collections by contacting customers to arrange and confirm vehicle return or collection appointments
* Liaising with external collection agents, auction and remarketing partners to ensure timely collections
* Maintaining accurate system updates, tracking progress and proactively resolving issues such as missed appointments or disputes
* Communicating clearly and sensitively with customers, including those in financial difficulty or vulnerable circumstances
* Supporting the wider recoveries team with unsecured personal loan recoveries, including administrative tasks relating to insolvencies, debt management plans, litigation and debt collection agencies
* Maintaining clear, compliant records and contributing to continuous improvement of processes and customer journeys
Qualifications
* Experience in recoveries or collections, ideally within motor finance, asset finance or unsecured lending
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging both customers and motor dealers
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
* Able to handle sensitive conversations and deliver fair customer outcomes
* Confident using Microsoft tools, including Excel and PowerPoint
* Experience in a recoveries or collections environment
* Ability to communicate effectively with customers and third parties
* Experience working accurately within process‑driven or regulated environments
* Good PC skills, including Microsoft Office
