About the Opportunity
Join the Joint Engineering Transport Services (JETS) team as a Vehicle Technician focused on light vehicles. Based at the Stoke‑on‑Trent, Trentham workshop, you will support the safety and reliability of the Staffordshire Police and Fire fleet by inspecting, repairing and maintaining a mix of ICE, hybrid and electric vehicles.
Responsibilities
* Repair and maintain motor vehicles, including cars and light commercial vehicles.
* Carry out routine inspections, servicing and refurbishment of a mixed‑fleet operating under the JETS remit.
* Support the year‑round on‑call rota, providing additional on‑call payments for the role.
* Keep technical knowledge current through bespoke in‑house and external training, including specialist manufacturer courses.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience repairing and maintaining a varied fleet of motor vehicles.
* Knowledge of ICE, hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
* Ideally fully qualified to carry out MOT testing to DVSA standards.
* Strong technical problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently in a modern, clean workshop environment.
