Role Objectives:
* The Release Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth integration of infrastructure
* and middleware upgrades, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, managingdocumentation, maintaining accountability for service level agreements (SLAs), conducting postdeploymentanalysis, and fostering effective communication among internal teams andstakeholders.
* The Release Manager will run releases, manage associated tickets, and collaborate with teams toverify and resolve issues during release processes. Releases primarily occur outside standardhours, requiring flexibility and commitment to ensuring successful outcomes.

Duties
* Integration ofInfrastructure andMiddleware Upgrades
o Collaborate with Project Management and deployment/support staffto ensure that necessary infrastructure and middleware upgrades areseamlessly integrated into the planned release schedule. This involvescoordinating with relevant teams to minimize disruption and ensuresmooth deployment.
o Ensure that all Implementation Plans adhere to defined ReleaseServices Processes and are consistent and repeatable. This involvescreating and maintaining standards and guidelines forimplementation plans across different releases and projects.
o Ensure that each release are planned and communicated with the clientwith release notes
* Continuous Improvement
o Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the ReleaseManagement team by implementing changes and enhancements totesting methodologies.
o Actively participate in Continual Service Improvement efforts for allRelease Services Processes and Procedures. This involves identifyingareas for enhancement, proposing and implementing changes, andmonitoring the impact of improvements over time.
* DocumentationManagement
o Ensure that all required documentation related to releases,implementation plans, and processes is finalized and stored in electronicdocument storage systems. This includes maintaining version control andaccessibility of documentation for relevant stakeholders.
* Accountability forService LevelAgreements (SLAs)
o Take accountability for all Service Level Agreements related toenvironment provisioning and component deployments. This involvesensuring that SLAs are met and that any deviations are addressedpromptly and effectively
* Post-DeploymentAnalysis & Reporting
o Conduct thorough Post-Deployment Analysis of all implementations toassess performance, identify issues, and gather feedback. Report onestablished metrics to track the success and effectiveness of releases,providing insights for improvement opportunities.
Key Competency and Experience:
* Minimum:
o Bachelors degree in information technology
o 5+ years business experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
o 3-4 years of ITIL Processes for Release, Change and Configuration Management or ProjectManagement Experience.
* Core Competencies:
o The ideal candidate should possess a solid technical background, preferably in softwaredevelopment, quality assurance, or related fields. A strong understanding of softwaredevelopment lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, release management principles, and testingpractices is essential.
o Experience using JIRA, Atlassian products, confluence and Agile.
o Proficiency in utilizing release management tools and platforms to orchestrate andautomate release processes is highly desirable. Experience with industry-standard tools suchas Jenkins, GitLab, Teamcity, Octopus or similar platforms is advantageous.
o Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effectivecommunication with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
o The ability to articulate and execute release plans, provide regular status updates, andmanage stakeholder expectations throughout the release lifecycle is critical for success in therole.
o Run releases, manual steps, work with the team to verify (support, qa, support analysts),identify and own issues from the release. Releases take place mainly out of hours and atweekends.
o Update and manage the associated tickets.
o The role demands effective leadership capabilities to drive collaboration and alignmentacross diverse teams including development, testing, operations, and client stakeholders.
o Proven experience in fostering a collaborative and cohesive team environment, resolvingconflicts, and motivating team members towards common goals is essential.
o The Release Manager should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identifypotential risks, mitigate issues, and resolve challenges encountered during the releaseprocess.
o Experience in implementing risk management strategies, conducting post-release reviews, andimplementing continuous improvement initiatives is beneficial.
o The Release Manager should demonstrate proficiency in project management methodologiesand practices. Experience in planning, coordinating, and executing complex projects,particularly in the context of software releases, is crucial.
o Strong organizational skills are imperative to effectively manage release schedules, coordinatecross-functional teams, and ensure timely delivery of releases while adhering to qualitystandards and client expectations.
o Technical Solution Analysis
o Understanding of multi-tiered application architecture
o Understanding of automation processes and tools.
o Experience in process development and implementation.
o An understanding of client needs and expectations is critical in ensuring the successful deliveryof releases that meet quality standards and align with client requirements.
o Experience in client-facing roles, understanding client feedback, and translating it intoactionable insights for the release management process is advantageous.
