Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our BRAND NEW brunch + coffee venture. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food and beverage preparation. This role offers an engaging environment where you can develop your skills in the coffee industry while providing exceptional service to our customers. Prior experience with Coffee, POS systems and food handling is preferred, but we are happy to train motivated individuals.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to established recipes and standards
* Operate POS systems efficiently for order processing and cash handling
* Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing inquiries or concerns
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
* Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and retail math calculations
* Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
* Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including serving food or light food items
* Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality
* Support team members in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere conducive to repeat business
Skills
* Previous barista experience with knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage customisation
* Familiarity with POS systems for efficient sales processing
* Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
* Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders during peak hours
* Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
* Ability to work in a fast-paced café environment while maintaining attention to detail
* Experience in serving or food industry roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate

Pay: £12.75-£13.50 per hour
