St David Recruitment is working on behalf of a national supplier of technologically advanced plant hire machinery, supporting the construction, rail, major projects, and energy sectors.
Due to continued business growth, our client is seeking a motivated and organised individual to join their team as a Hire Desk Controller.
This is a pivotal role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for overseeing the hire desk operations, managing equipment availability, and coordinating logistics to ensure efficient service delivery. The role requires close collaboration with sales, operations, and customer service teams to provide a seamless experience for clients.
Job Role
As a Hire Desk Controller, you will act as the primary point of contact for key account customers. You will be responsible for managing the full hire lifecycle, from initial customer request through to off-hire and invoicing, ensuring a seamless and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and process hire contracts, including on-hire and off-hire arrangements
* Liaise effectively with customers, transport teams, sales, and workshop departments
* Monitor active contracts and ensure timely and accurate invoicing
* Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
* Check equipment availability and ensure all records are accurate and up to date
Skills and Attributes
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Confident communicator with a professional telephone manner
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
* Positive, proactive, and customer-focused attitude
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience within the plant hire industry
* Familiarity with the Syrinx system is desirable; however, full training will be provided
