About the Role
Vision for Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within supportive and inclusive schools in Romford. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties.
The Role Will Include
1. Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
2. Supporting learning, emotional wellbeing, and classroom engagement
3. Assisting the class teacher with differentiated activities
4. Promoting positive behaviour and social development
5. Helping pupils build confidence and independence
6. Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals
Requirements
The desired SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
7. Experience working with children or young people with SEN
8. A calm, nurturing, and flexible approach
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills
10. A passion for supporting children with additional needs
11. Relevant qualifications or training within education or care (desirable)
Experience within schools, care settings, youth work, or support work is welcomed.
