WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? The role of the Franchise Business Manager is to build best in class franchise operating capability across the UK market by developing strategic relationships and providing operational consultancy for our franchise partners. You will unlock growth by strengthening Franchisee business operations and influencing Franchise partners to adhere to all operational standards and ensure they are consistently executed to drive results for our customers, our teams, and to grow. The successful candidate also will need to both recommend/manage the appropriate interventions and/or consequence for underperforming partners. They will work closely with the wider Operations team which includes our Restaurant Excellence team, as well as our HR team to deliver insights and the latest best practice working towards driving our franchise partners to be self-sufficient. They will need to work cross-functionally to be able to identify when to connect franchisee partners with cross functional Restaurant Support Centre (RSC) teams to advise them on areas outside of their scope. What you’ll do: Growth Mindset Leadership Drive the implementation of the UK operations strategy and embed this within our Franchise partner organisations Understand what creates a positive customer experience, identify challenges, and develop solutions to address. Leverage best practice across the market and implement repeatable models to scale with a sense of urgency. Support Franchisees to deliver key functional metrics and be able to articulate the impact of achieving these on their businesses. Inspire Franchisees to adapt and embrace Yum solutions. Build Franchise Capability Build strong working relationships with allocated Franchise partners, understanding their business and operating capability, identifying areas for improvement and growth Using your ability to influence and inspire, you will leverage multiple engagement channels to build meaningful connections and relationships. Design bespoke strategic plans to improve people and operational capability in key partners, ensuring all key operational roles are trained and certified to the required standard, developing Above Store Leaders as appropriate in partnership with our franchisees. Understand, interpret, uphold, and enforce standards and policies including Audit follow ups and action plans Support the development of Principle Operators and Operational Leaders in the franchise estate, positioning them to build the capabilities of their above store and hut level teams and ensuring a training culture exists within the Franchise businesses you are assigned. Ensure all Franchise Partners remain focused on strategic pillars with targeted operational measures, robust people planning, training and development and a people capability first mindset, working with them to execute their action plans Work closely with key cross functional partners on initiatives for market and provide operational guidance on programs that will impact the franchise teams. What we’re looking for: Education Degree preferred but not essential Experience QSR/Retail operational experience High level of commercial acumen In working in a franchise/commercial led business with large spans of control Exceptional negotiating and influencing skills Consistently high communication skills both written and verbal Ability to influence senior leaders Strategic and analytical thinker who can understand and apply actions to drive change at organisational level Outstanding action driving ability, and attention to detail in managing process Knowledge of training metrics and how to influence these, ability to interpret people analytics to drive capability and performance. Competencies & Skillset You will need to have honed some core leadership skills and have a proven track record of success and growth. You will be a credible, confident, reliable individual with ability to influence franchisees and their business results as well as to grow employees and build capability. You will need to be able to communicate in an assertive way, across all levels of our Franchise organisations and have the ability to lead by influencing and coaching. Your strong interpersonal skills and high levels of confidentiality and sensitivity will lend themselves well to this role. We are also looking for you to understand how to identify health in your franchisee business, including having knowledge of Profit and Loss reports and contributing factors, have a level of commercial awareness, and be a problem solver who is results orientated. You’ll have the ability to accurately evaluate multiple sources of information to make interpretations that will help franchisees build their knowledge of how their businesses are performing and whether they are achieving organizational goals and results.. You will be a team player, with an ability to build trusting and meaningful relationships with others, ideally gained in an operational setting.
