Regional Quality Improvement Nurse - Essex & London
Excelcare is a privately owned nursing and care home provider established for over 34 years, and we currently have an excellent opportunity for a Regional Quality Improvement Nurse to join our strong and well-established Home Management and Regional Team supporting 16 Care Homes across our Essex & London region.
Purpose of the role
Reporting to the Deputy Regional Operations Director, the Regional Quality Improvement Nurse will lead and implement the quality strategy across the region, reviewing audit outcomes and actions required with guidance from the DROD. You will provide guidance and support to the homes, working alongside teams to improve care delivery and embed quality and wellbeing.
About the Regional Quality Improvement Nurse role
* Collaborate with home managers to ensure necessary knowledge and support are provided as identified through action plans following audits against all aspects of the CQC Regulations, local authority contractual requirements, and Company Quality Framework and policies.
* Assist in completing action plans based on audit findings and identify support needed in coordination with the Regional Operations Director and Deputy Regional Operations Director, supporting to address deficits and actions to resolve them.
* Support Home Managers, Care Managers, and clinical teams to analyze Clinical Key Performance Indicators and identify trends.
* Implement Service Improvement plans for homes rated below standards.
* Understand and promote the Personhood Framework to ensure homes embed these principles and demonstrate continuous improvement in areas of ‘Petals’ within the home.
* Ensure understanding and compliance with local authority and company safeguarding and adult protection policies, including involvement in investigations and reporting.
* Provide targeted support to care homes as needed, including on-call duties, crisis management, and placement support if required.
* Maintain close communication with regulatory bodies and partner organizations such as local trusts, authorities, and CCGs.
* Support the development of nurses through clinical supervision, observations, and feedback on practice.
About you
* NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
* Over 5 years of clinical and care experience
* Solid knowledge of the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014
* Up-to-date knowledge of care and risk assessments
* Thorough understanding of CQC Regulations including KLOEs
* Car owner and full driving license to travel across services; car allowance and business mileage paid from the regional office.
