An opportunity has arisen within the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team in Carmarthenshire for a Team secretary. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to provide general administration support to the multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will possess excellent communication skills so as to sensitively handle telephone dialogue with patients and professionals.
The role will involve undertaking all administrative processes associated with patient activity and the post holder must be aware of the highly confidential nature of this role.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of a comprehensive and quality secretarial service to the Cardiac Rehabilitation multi-disciplinary team.
* Work 28 hours per week.
* Perform receipt and distribution of mail, audio transcription and typing of highly sensitive letters and reports.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times and operate the Health Board patient database system.
* Demonstrate excellent organisation skills, flexibility and adaptability, initiative, tact and diplomacy.
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e‑mail.
* Proven secretarial skills including audio typing skills.
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
* Level 3 or equivalent competency in Word Processing and Audio Transcription.
* Knowledge of secretarial procedures and software programmes (e.g., Microsoft packages, e‑mail, internet and databases).
* 5 GCSEs or equivalent.
* NVQ level 2 in administration.
* The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are welcomed.
Experience
* Previous secretarial and/or administration experience.
* Health service experience – familiarity with medical terms.
Other Requirements
* Flexible approach to the needs of the service.
Salary: £26,300 to £27,890 a year, pro rata.
