Tool Hire Manager

Main Purpose
1. To generate profitable Tool Hire business by building relationships with customers both face to face and via the telephone to achieve maximum sales, whilst ensuring effective and efficient running of Tool Hire.
2. Promote MKM to be the merchant of choice within your geographical area.

Supervise the team to deliver an excellent customer experience and work towards Branch sales and profit targets by:
3. Ensuring profitable customer relationships are built and maintained, including complaint resolution, preparing customer orders, loading and unloading safely and satisfactorily, ensuring on hires are delivered efficiently.
4. Ensure sales orders and delivery schedules are processed accurately and promptly
5. Advise customers on trading terms and conditions and information in relation to customer accounts and credit levels
6. Supporting all Company initiatives
7. Following plans to continuously improve customer experience
8. Understanding local market issues and communicate to Manager to support sales growth plans
Support Branch Management to:
9. Deliver key KPIs
10. Carry out all cash transactions, refund and till processes accurately and safeguard Company’s stock, money and all other Company assets
11. Adhere to all company policies and procedures
12. Enhance the Safety and Wellbeing culture and meet targets
13. Manage the purchasing of spare parts as necessary.
14. Conduct stock takes
15. Make recommendations for stock purchases taking account of product mix in accordance with local needs.
16. Ensure all staff are Health & Safety trained (annually)
17. Cascade the Croner Health & Safety training to all staff
18. Ensure staff operate within Health & Safety guidelines, including the wearing of Personal, Protective Clothing (PPC) required for their job
19. Run regular Fire Drills
20. Make sure the hire areas are clean, tidy and safe
Support Branch Management to:
21. Achieve Safety and Wellbeing culture
22. Embed Saint-Gobain Principles of Conduct and Action into working environment and behavioural standards
23. Develop a performance culture and high colleague engagement
24. Communicate Company plans, goals and individual objectives.
25. Support the team with day-to-day queries
Product Knowledge
26. Maintain up to date knowledge of products and regulations, awareness of products and services and trends within the marketplace and identify future opportunities for the development of the hire range.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
27. Working knowledge of appropriate Health & Safety legislation
28. A relevant understanding of the market and product knowledge
29. Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
30. Flexible and enthusiastic attitude
31. Demonstrable customer service focus
32. Able to create and maintain successful relationships
33. Good organisational skills to manage stock
Desirable
34. GCSEs (Or equivalent) - Maths & English
35. Relevant forklift licence
36. Experience in a sales/customer focused role
37. IT literate
