Position Summary

As a Part-Time Professor, you will develop and deliver curriculum using various engaging and innovative methods, playing a pivotal role in enhancing academic excellence through sound teaching practice.
The School Of Engineering & Technology Is Seeking Qualified Professionals To Join The Welding Techniques And Welding & Fabrication Technician Programs To Teach First-year Mathematics Courses Part-time From September 2025 - December 2025 With a Focus On
* Trade-related mathematical problem-solving
* Measurement, conversions, fractions, equations
* Practical applications of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
* Statistical tools as measures of central tendency, dispersion, and distribution
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. Conestoga offers classes Monday to Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., both in person and online. Part-time Professors typically teach one to two courses. Courses are approximately three to six hours per week in the classroom for a 14-week term.
Responsibilities
* Ensure program and course curriculum are current, relevant, and reflective of best practices in the field
* Design appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and evaluating student progress and achievement
* Carry out regularly scheduled instruction according to the format prescribed for the course, including online, classroom, and computer-assisted lab lessons
* Ensure student awareness of course objectives, instructional approach, and evaluation systems
* Evaluate student progress/achievement, assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of student work within the assigned course, and maintain records as required
* Support students in the use of eConestoga, the learning management system (D2L), as well as maintain course materials within this system
* Create and maintain a positive learning environment which supports the diversity of students’ cultures, educational backgrounds, and learning styles
* Work in a collaborative, collegial manner both within the department and across the college
Qualifications
* Two-year diploma in Welding, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field is required
* Advanced knowledge of mathematical concepts (i.e. algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and linear equations) and their application in trades-related fields
* Previous adult or post-secondary level teaching experience is preferred
* Experience with curriculum development is an asset
* Experience with computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and educational technologies (e.g., D2L) is preferred
* Demonstrated exceptional presentation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an academic team
* Demonstrated ability to relate to learners and provide a positive learning environment to students working at different skill levels, including international students and students requiring accommodation, is an asset
* Strong commitment to academic excellence, student success, and ability to support Conestoga’s continuous quality improvement initiatives
* Strong relationships with industry contacts and network connections are considered an asset
