You will encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, ensuring every child achieves their potential. Supporting positive behaviour, resilience, and independence will also be an important part of the role. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 5 curriculum Use assessment data to monitor progress and target support Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners Maintain a focused, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment Promote positive behaviour and independent learning Collaborate with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues Communicate effectively with parents and carers Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and CPD opportunities Support pupils’ personal and social development alongside academic growth Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will be: A qualified teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experienced in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5 Confident in curriculum delivery, assessment, and differentiation Organised, reflective, and adaptable Strong in classroom management and pupil engagement Committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding Willing to contribute positively to the wider school community Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply and will receive mentoring and support.
