Axon Moore is delighted to be partnering with a high-growth, market-leading organisation to recruit an Accounts Payable Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop a team of five while taking full ownership of the end to end Accounts Payable function. This role works closely with teams across the business, so strong communication is key.
Location: Stockport + Hybrid
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits
Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of five, setting objectives and managing workloads
* Oversee end-to-end processing of invoices and employee expenses
* Ensure compliance with company policies & VAT regulations
* Resolve complex invoice, payment, or supplier issues
* Maintain accurate supplier records, including new vendor setup
* Identify process improvements and opportunities for automation / system implimentation
* Act as escalation point for supplier issues
* Prepare AP reports, manage month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, and assist with cashflow forecasting
Person specification
* Proven experience managing Accounts Payable teams in medium to large organisations
* Strong knowledge of invoice processing, payment cycles, VAT rules, and financial controls
* Experience with accounting/ERP systems
* Strong Excel skills
* Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
* Experienced in improving processes / ideally with experience supporting system implementation
