We’re looking for a dedicated and detail-focused Hygiene Operative to join our team. In this vital role, you’ll help ensure that our factory environment and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, meeting all legal, company, and customer requirements. Working closely with Production, Technical, and Engineering teams, you’ll play a key role in maintaining food safety standards and driving continuous improvement across the site. What You’ll Be Doing Your responsibilities will include: Safely and effectively using cleaning chemicals, understanding their purpose and correct application Complying fully with COSHH regulations and hygiene safety requirements Following cleaning schedules, systems, and procedures to maintain high standards Protecting sensitive equipment (control panels, sensors, motors) before cleaning Completing and maintaining accurate department documentation Reporting hazards, unsafe practices, and incidents to the Hygiene leadership team Supporting strong team collaboration across departments Ensuring all equipment is returned in a food-safe and compliant condition – “Do it right first time” Understanding and applying key inspection points for machinery cleaning Monitoring and reporting damage to equipment or machinery Ensuring waste is correctly segregated and disposed of Wearing and maintaining correct PPE at all times Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across all factory environments Promoting and maintaining Clean As You Go (CAYG) practices Taking a flexible approach to tasks as required Follow all Health & Safety procedures at all times Report accidents, near misses, and hazards promptly Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues Apply a basic understanding of food microbiology and hygiene principles Support the delivery of high food safety standards across the site Ensure all cleaning practices meet company and customer expectations What We’re Looking For: A proactive, “can-do” attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
