Principal Civil Engineer – Cardiff
Ref MR400 – Salary up to GBP 80,000.
We are currently seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer with an ambition to oversee the technical delivery of a portfolio of projects for a successful design consultancy in Cardiff or Gloucester. The candidate will ensure the quality and accuracy of engineering to the highest standard and will be responsible for the quality management of designs and the commercial performance of projects.
Our client focuses on commercial and social housing, care homes, renewable energy projects (notably wind farms), industrial developments, remediation, and aims to grow in the rail sector.
The role is based throughout South Wales and the West of England, requiring empathy, support for staff and confidence when engaging with clients.
Key responsibilities include undertaking technical design work and reporting, managing design quality, and maintaining commercial performance. Ideal candidates are highly competent in drainage, highways, and civil infrastructure, familiar with highway authorities and water utilities procedures, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable skills: knowledge of microdrainage, CAD and Civils 3D. Requirements: at least eight years of postgraduate experience, typically Chartered, but similar experience is welcomed.
