We are a well-established, family-run e-commerce business in the hardware industry, supplying products to both trade and retail customers across the UK & Internationally. To support our continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and motivated Office Assistant to join our team. This is a part-time position with the potential for additional hours as the role develops.
Location
This role is office-based in Shawfarm Industrial Estate, Prestwick, Scotland.
About the Role
You will support the day-to-day running of our office and assist with a variety of administrative tasks. Previous office experience is preferred, however, full training will be provided. You must be confident using a computer, have good communication skills, and a positive, can-do attitude.
You should be comfortable speaking with customers and suppliers both on the telephone and in person, able to follow procedures, problem solve, and manage your workload efficiently. Attention to detail, the ability to work well in a team, and the confidence to work independently at times are all important.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to customer enquiries, process orders via helpdesk, email & telephone.
Create postage labels, resolve delivery queries, and manage product returns.
Answer telephone calls, schedule appointments, and take messages.
Provide occasional cover at reception.
Update and maintain documents and spreadsheets using MS Word & Excel.
Liaise with suppliers and vendors.
Complete online forms as required.
Process invoices and maintain filing systems.
Add and update website products and information.
Assist with stock handling and packing when needed.
Hours & Flexibility
15–20 hours per week (Mon, Wed & Fri)
Flexible hours between 9am–5pm to suit parental/caring/personal needs
Potential for extra or full-time hours in future
Requirements
NC Administration (or equivalent qualification or relevant experience).
A full UK driving licence is preferred, as occasional travel may be required.
We are looking for someone who is trustworthy, reliable, has excellent timekeeping, and is willing to grow with the role.
