A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is working in partnership with a number of inclusive mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions in Palmers Green to recruit committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants. These schools support pupils across Early Years, Primary, and Secondary phases, many of whom require additional support to access learning and manage emotional or developmental needs.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Palmers Green, you will support pupils with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, and sensory processing needs. Pupils may require structured routines, clear communication, and consistent adult support to help them engage positively with education.
You may work 1:1 with a pupil who has an EHCP, support small intervention groups, or provide in-class support alongside the teacher. Some roles may also involve supporting pupils during transitions, break times, or sensory regulation activities.
Your role will be central to helping pupils feel safe, understood, and confident within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide targeted SEN support in line with EHCPs and individual learning plans
* Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour, and social interaction
* Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities
* Promote independence, resilience, and positive self-esteem
* Support pupils during transitions and unstructured times
* Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and SENCOs
* Maintain accurate SEN, behaviour, and safeguarding records
* Follow all school policies and procedures
