 
        
        Mechanical Engineer (Healthcare) – Contract position, 3 months at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Reports to the Technical Services Manager. Working hours: Monday‑Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with participation in the on‑call rota.
About the Role
Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer with a passion for delivering high‑quality service in the healthcare sector? You will join a dedicated team at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, playing a key role in maintaining, repairing, and inspecting mechanical building services.
Responsibilities
 * Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): conduct routine maintenance on mechanical and associated building services.
 * Repairs and Fault Finding: respond quickly to breakdowns and conduct thorough fault finding.
 * Installation and Upgrades: assist in minor upgrades and adaptations to existing systems.
 * Health and Safety Compliance: ensure all work is carried out in accordance with statutory and company health and safety guidelines, including use of correct PPE.
 * Collaboration and Customer Focus: work closely with colleagues and departments to minimise disruption while ensuring high standards of service delivery.
 * Flexibility and Initiative: participate in the engineer on‑call rota and respond effectively to out‑of‑hours needs.
What We Are Looking For
 * Experience in maintenance, ideally within a healthcare or similar environment.
 * NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Services (or equivalent) with hands‑on experience in mechanical systems (DHW, LPHW, CHW, ventilation). Pipefitting and steam system experience is a plus.
 * Team player who builds relationships with customers and colleagues, contributing positively to team goals.
 * Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to offer solutions to improve service efficiency and safety.
 * Commitment to excellence, passion for providing exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards, even when working independently.
