British Gas is looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join the Risk & Actuarial team. The role involves working across risk, technical provisions, underwriting oversight, and regulatory activity, with a focus on Home Care insurance products.

What you’ll be doing
* Support our Home Care insurance products (boiler and central heating cover) and ensure risk is managed effectively while meeting regulatory requirements.
* Technical provisions & actuarial insight
o Support the quarterly review of technical provisions
o Assist in assessing assumptions and ensuring robust actuarial outputs
* Underwriting & reinsurance oversight
o Assist in overseeing underwriting activities
o Support the Chief Actuary in forming opinions on underwriting and reinsurance strategies
* Risk management & ORSA
o Contribute to broader risk management activities, including the ORSA process
o Support stress testing and scenario analysis
* Regulatory & PRA activity
o Support PRA compliance, including horizon scanning and regulatory monitoring
o Contribute to maintaining a strong governance and risk framework
Qualifications
* A part-qualified actuary progressing through IFoA exams.
* Experience in insurance (ideally GI), consultancy, or actuarial risk.
* Good understanding of SolvencyII / SolvencyUK.
* Curiosity and desire to develop across multiple actuarial disciplines.
* Strong communication skills and ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
* Proactive mindset and confidence to operate in a second-line oversight role.
