A successful and growing engineering manufacturer based in the East Yorkshire area is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established design office.

The role
As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the design team across a range of mechanical engineering activities, contributing to the development, production and support of engineered products.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Producing and checking mechanical component and assembly drawings
* Supporting manufacturing and assembly with accurate technical documentation
* Working closely with electrical design and software teams to ensure designs meet project and customer requirements
* Providing technical support to production, service teams, subcontractors and suppliers
* Assisting with design changes, revisions and continuous improvement activities
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation within the design office
* Occasional travel to other UK sites, suppliers or customer locations when required
This role is primarily office-based and offers hands‑on exposure to the full product lifecycle.
About you
This role would suit a Graduate Mechanical Engineer or Junior Mechanical Design Engineer who is looking to develop their skills within a structured design environment.
We would be keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
* A degree, HNC/HND or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Some experience or understanding of mechanical design, assembly or manufacturing environments
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
* A methodical approach with strong attention to detail
* Confidence working both independently and as part of a wider engineering team
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software would be beneficial, but full training and support will be provided.
