Placement and duration
The Technology Summer Analyst Programme is a comprehensive 13-week internship, starting in June, which provides classroom and on-the-job training as well as valuable work experience. Summer Analysts will be working alongside experienced colleagues on real projects, designed to offer a real-world, project-based experience that will demonstrate first-hand what it is like to be a technologist for a top financial firm. You will receive regular mentoring and coaching, as well as regular evaluation reviews to ensure your career is on track throughout your time with us and you continue to be developed along the way. Summer Analysts who excel may receive an offer to join the Full-Time Finance Analyst Training Program
Roles and Responsibilities
Our development teams build applications that enable our business to perform. Covering the full software development lifecycle, day to day they typically meet with clients to gather and analyse requirements; determine, design, and develop the optimal solutions for the problems our clients face; then test, deploy, and enhance the applications in production. They work on a wide range of applications from streamlining complex reporting workflows to high-performing, low-latency electronic trading systems. Responsibilities may include:
* Use programming languages and algorithms to solve real world business problems
* Cultivate your technology skills and learn new ones to meet the requirements of a given project
* Work in a client-oriented environment and focus on delivering high quality software which provides clients with information necessary to tackle business-related issues
* Be part of collaborative and supportive team. You will be expected to attend team discussions, for which you may draft or deliver presentations
* Work in an agile and client-focused team
* Attend client meetings, where you might be responsible for presenting project updates
* Develop and deepen your financial knowledge, e.g., learn what equity, fixed income, and other security types are,
Qualifications and Skills
* Penultimate-year Bachelor's or Master's student from a Computer Science or other STEM degree background.
* You should have a strong understanding of Operating Systems, familiar with foundations in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Java or C++).
* Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for Technology.
