We are seeking a creative, motivated, and skilled Design & Technology Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Nottingham, starting ASAP. As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will encourage creativity, technical understanding, and independent thinking, helping students develop practical skills alongside theoretical knowledge. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential) Prepare students for GCSE and vocational assessments Assess, track, and monitor student progress effectively Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and EAL Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe working environment Contribute to curriculum planning and resource development Work collaboratively with departmental colleagues and support staff Ensure health and safety procedures are followed in practical lessons Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification Have experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level Be confident delivering practical and theory-based lessons Have strong classroom and workshop management skills Be creative, enthusiastic, and reflective in practice Be committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing Be a positive and collaborative team player The school is located in Nottingham, with excellent transport links and a vibrant local community.
